As soon as you see any one of the issues like Card Theft, Stolen or Lost, you can immediately Block your Debit Card to avoid any fraudulent activities or Suspicious transactions.

Once you have found your misplaced Debit Card, you can Unblock it for your usage. I will share Unblock Debit Card steps as well in this article.

Make sure to update your Mobile No. in the banking records so that you can receive the OTP.

Steps to Block your Bank of India Debit Card:-

1. Open Bank Of India website. Click on Personal link:-

2. Provide your User ID, Password & Captcha, and click on SUBMIT button.

3. On the Home Page, click on Card Services tab present at the top of the page. Now, click on Debit Card link and then Block/Unblock Debit Card link as shown below:-

4. Now, select your Account No. associated with the Debit Card and click on Continue button, as shown below:-

5. Select the Card Number and then select Block Option. Click on Continue button. For Reason, you can select "Lost Card" option.  It is shown below:-

6. Enter the OTP received on your registered Mobile No. and click on Submit button.

7. Enter your Transaction Password and click on Submit button.

8. The Debit Card is successfully blocked.

9. You can cross-check whether the Card is really Blocked or not by going again to Block/Unblock Debit Card section:-

How To Block and Reissue SBI Credit Card

If the Suspicious transaction is not authorized by the Card Owner, the Credit Card gets blocked for Safety purpose and a new Card gets issued to avoid such mischievous frauds in the future.

This article will help you in sharing the steps to block your SBI Credit Card due to some suspicious transactions and reissue a new Credit Card for your safety.

Steps to Block and Reissue your SBI Credit Card:-

1. Once a Suspicious Transaction has happened, you will receive an SMS or Email from SBI. Contents of which are:-

2. Login to SBI Credit Card Website or Mobile App using your Username and Password. For this article, we will use SBI Credit Card Mobile App to perform the required steps.

3. As soon as you open the Mobile App, you will be shown the below screen. Make sure to check your Card details, Reason as Suspicious transaction, your correct Address. Click on SUBMIT button:-

4. You will get the confirmation Service Request No. once you submit the request. 

Now, click on REQUEST FOR A NEW CARD button to reissue a new Card:-

Congratulations! You have successfully blocked your SBI Credit Card and reissued a new one.

How To Hotlist or Block Your Lost or Stolen SBI Credit Card Using SMS?

Finance Guru Speaks: Have you lost your SBI Credit Card or is it Stolen? Are you worried on how to block or hotlist this Card as soon as possible? If yes, then this article will provide you guidance on hotlisting your Credit Card Online through SMS facility.

You need to use your registered mobile no. to send SMS to block your Credit Card.

Step to follow to block or hotlist SBI Credit Card using SMS :-

1. Through your registered Mobile No., send SMS to 5676791 in the following format :-

BLOCK xxxx

  
xxxx refers to the last 4 digits of your SBI or Tata Card number.

Let's say your Credit Card No. is 1111222233334444. You need to send SMS to 5676791 as -

BLOCK 4444

Congratulations!! You have successfully blocked your lost/stolen SBI Credit Card.

Please note, for every SMS request that you send to 5676791, there is a premium charge applicable. Bank will block your card, the moment they receive your card block request through SMS. Bank will also send you a confirmation SMS about the same. If you do not receive a confirmation SMS from Bank within 5 minutes of your request, please do not consider the card to have been blocked. Please call up SBI Credit Card helpline, and get your card blocked immediately in order to avoid any misuse.

2. Click on Requests -> Report a Lost/Stolen Card on the Left Side, as shown below:-

Note: If you don't want the Credit Card to get re-issued, then keep the option Please issue a new card to me as unchecked.

Congratulations!! You have successfully blocked your lost/stolen SBI Credit Card. It may take normally upto 2-4 working days to get the Card hotlisted in the System.
