How To Hotlist or Block Your Lost or Stolen SBI Credit Card Using SMS?

Finance Guru Speaks: Have you lost your SBI Credit Card or is it Stolen? Are you worried on how to block or hotlist this Card as soon as possible? If yes, then this article will provide you guidance on hotlisting your Credit Card Online through SMS facility.

You need to use your registered mobile no. to send SMS to block your Credit Card.

Step to follow to block or hotlist SBI Credit Card using SMS :-

1. Through your registered Mobile No., send SMS to 5676791 in the following format :-

BLOCK xxxx

  
xxxx refers to the last 4 digits of your SBI or Tata Card number.

Let's say your Credit Card No. is 1111222233334444. You need to send SMS to 5676791 as -

BLOCK 4444

Congratulations!! You have successfully blocked your lost/stolen SBI Credit Card.

Please note, for every SMS request that you send to 5676791, there is a premium charge applicable. Bank will block your card, the moment they receive your card block request through SMS. Bank will also send you a confirmation SMS about the same. If you do not receive a confirmation SMS from Bank within 5 minutes of your request, please do not consider the card to have been blocked. Please call up SBI Credit Card helpline, and get your card blocked immediately in order to avoid any misuse.

Aadhaar linking with Kotak Mahindra Bank

Let's say your Aadhar No. is 123456789000 and your CRN (Customer Relationship No.) is 112233. So you need to send SMS to 5676788 as -

AADHAAR 123456789000 112233

You can find CRN (Customer Relationship No.) is mentioned on your Debit Card / Cheque book or any other communication you would have received from the bank.

3. You will get SMS confirmation of Aadhar seeding request.

4. The Aadhaar number will be verified by Bank with UIDAI. If the verification is failed, you can contact the branch along with Aadhaar number or e-aadhaar.

Congratulations!! You have linked your Aadhaar Number with your Kotak Mahindra Bank through SMS.

Please note :-

- On submitting, your request for seeding Aadhaar Number into your account with the Bank will be processed, basis the validation with NPCI / requisite authorities.

- This request will not be processed if details in Bank Account do not match with details available with UIDAI.

- The Bank is not responsible for any erroneous updation of Aadhaar Number in your account.

- Please do not submit parallel requests for Aadhaar seeding using more than one medium. If you have already submitted your request for Aadhaar Card linking either with Aadhaar linking form at bank branch / SMS Banking / Netbanking, please wait for the failure message before again submitting your request through any of these mediums.

Stop Cheque Payment Request in Axis Bank Using SMS

Steps to follow to stop Cheque Payment in Axis Bank using SMS :-

    Through your registered mobile no. , send SMS as STOPCHQ <6 digit of Cheque No.> <Last 6 digit of the A/c No.> <3 digit Reason Code> to 5676782 or 9717000002

    


    Example, if your Account No. is 123000456789765 and Cheque No. whose Payment needs to be stopped is 123456, so you need to send SMS as STOPCHQ 123456 789765 019 to 5676782 or 9717000002

Reason Codes are shown as below :-
019 - Cheque Book lost
020 - Cheque Book mutilated
021 - Cheque Book stolen
022 - Cheque forged
023 - Cheque lost
018 - Cheque Book not received
016 - Others
017 - Wrong amount spelt 

Note: In the above example, we took the reason code as 019.

Congratulations!! You have linked your Aadhaar Number with your SBI Savings Bank Account through SMS.

Please note :-

- Aadhaar number can be updated with Saving account only.

- On submitting, your request for seeding Aadhaar Number into your account with the Bank will be processed, basis the validation with NPCI / requisite authorities.

- This request will not be processed, if details in Bank Account do not match with details available with UIDAI.

- The Bank is not responsible for any erroneous updation of Aadhaar Number in your account.

- If your Aadhaar number is already seeded in your account with SBI Bank and you wish to change the account, please visit the nearest SBI Branch with your Aadhaar Card.
